The PlayStation Plus Collection is shutting down on May 9, 2023, leaving many to wonder if they can still access their claimed games afterward. The collection offered a library of 20 standout PS4 games for PlayStation 5 users when they signed up for a PlayStation Plus subscription, making the most of the PS5's backward-compatibility with the majority of PS4 titles.
The PS Plus Collection deal was a good way for players who were coming to PlayStation 5 at its launch but didn't have a PlayStation 4 to experience several of that console generation's exclusives such as,,, and. Players can rest easy knowing any of the PS Plus Collection titles claimed prior to May 9 will still be available so long as they have an active PlayStation Plus subscription. After the PS Plus Collection closes, any pre-saved titles stay in users' libraries to re-download at a later date regardless of what PS Plus tier they're on. Those who haven't been able to take advantage of Sony's deal before then will have to pay whatever prices the titles are going for on the PS Store going forward, although with all 20 titles being several years old and part of a previous console generation, it's unlikely that they will be priced too high.
