Kristen Stewart Leads Star-Studded The Wrong Girl Cast for Neon Drama
Kristen Stewart and Alia Shawkat are set to lead Neon’s upcoming movie The Wrong Girl, which recently began filming in Los Angeles and features an absolutely star-studded cast.
Alongside Stewart, The Wrong Girl cast also includes the likes of Alia Shawkat in the starring role opposite Stewart. Other key supporting actors in the film include Seth Rogen, Kumail Nanjiani, LaKeith Stanfield, Zack Fox, and Tony Hale.
The film is set to be written and directed by Dylan Meyer, who is making her directorial debut with the project.
According to Neon, The Wrong Girl follows the story of “Frankie (Stewart) and Molly (Shawkat), codependent best friends living paycheck to paycheck and bong rip to bong rip, when a case of mistaken identity throws their lives into chaos.”
The film will also feature Philadelphia punk band Mannequin Pussy, who will do a live performance in the movie “at a long-shuttered Los Angeles DIY space.”
The Wrong Girl has already begun filming in Los Angeles, and is one of the first independent films to go into production in LA, following the devastating wildfires that took place in California over the past two months. According to Neon, the film’s production will last 29 days, and employ approximately 100 people per day, 95% of which will be local residents.
The movie will be produced by Maggie McLean, Stewart, and Meyer for Nevermind Pictures. Alex McAtee, James Weaver, Seth Rogen, and Evan Goldberg will also produce, as will Allison Carter and Jon Read.
