In the latest update for the 2023 remake of Dead Space, EA Motive has unlocked the opportunity for players to swap their Miner RIG cosmetic for previously unlocked suit levels. At launch, Dead Space players weren't allowed to swap to in-game suits that they'd previously unlocked, but after players asked EA Motive add the option, the developer followed through.
Much like in the original Dead Space, players are able to unlock multiple levels of Isaac's Miner RIG suit. There are six suit levels in total, though only the first five can be purchased in a single playthrough. Each level improves Isaac's overall damage protection and inventory slots, but requires a substantial amount of Credits to acquire. Every version of the suit also features a unique cosmetic appearance, with higher levels featuring additional armor plating.

EA Motive has delivered an update in response to feedback regarding the inability to swap through Isaac's Miner RIG suit cosmetics. A small update went out on Friday, February 17 allowing players to visit their Storage and access previously acquired suit visuals. Note that acquiring a new suit unlocks the previous level permanently. To go back to the new suit, Dead Space players should choose the «Unequip» option rather than look for the cosmetic in their storage.
While Dead Space players were undoubtedly more than happy to receive the gameplay-impacting improvements from leveling up Isaac's Miner RIG suit, not everyone was a fan of the visuals of each improved suit.
