How to Complete the Premeditated Malpractice Side Quest in Dead Space Remake
“Premeditated Malpractice” is one of the new side quests within the . In this side quest, Isaac will learn how the regenerative Necromorph that pursues him was created. In the original game, this was not explored beyond a simple audio log. Now Isaac will put together a much fuller idea of what happened.
Along with other new aspects in the , several side quests have been added to flesh out the lore of the game even more. In Premeditated Malpractice, Isaac will follow the story of Dr. Mercer and the Hunter. This is something only explored in a single audio log in the original game, so this gives a new perspective on the situation as well as gives Isaac a significant weapon upgrade.

To start Premeditated Malpractice, Isaac will have to interact with an item just after freezing the Hunter and sealing it away. This can be picked up just after finishing Chapter 5 — Lethal Devotion. It will be toward the middle of the room, near nitrogen in the cryogenic chamber. This will activate the side quest.
The next objective will be to analyze the sample that was picked up. This will be found back on the Medical Deck, where a schematic was found in Chapter 2. It will be in the Main Lab nearby. After the sample has been analyzed, the objective will lead Isaac to the ICU to reach a bed with an audio log. Interact with it to listen to the message.
Finish Chapter 6 and proceed to Chapter 7 — Into the Void. Reach the Ore Storage section of the Mining Deck. To find it, proceed through this level of until there is a door labeled Extraction Area.
