While Street Fighter and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles both started in 1987, they've taken different paths until a new comic book series that is bringing the two together in an incredible crossover. Though the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have appeared multiple times in the fighting genre that the Capcom series broke ground in, the characters have never been in a Street Fighter game, but this comic will smash the universes together.
No strangers to dabbling with popular intellectual property, IDW Publishing recently confirmed that a new series will cross over the universes of Street Fighter and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The Ninja Turtles have been prominent brawlers in games of the past, with the four of them featured in DC fighting game Injustice 2, and a fighting game inspired by the 1980s cartoon made for the Super Nintendo. While Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tournament Fighters saw success on the SNES, so did multiple Street Fighter titles, which caused many fans to wonder if the two would ever cross over, which is finally coming to fruition.
