A full-blown sequel to Cities Skylines, the appropriately named Cities Skylines II has been announced for PS5. It only has a vague '2023' release window right now, but the official press release describes it as «the most realistic city simulation ever created». Quite the promise!
The original Cities Skylines was very well received, so there'll be high expectations for this follow-up. The fact that it isn't releasing on last-gen consoles might hint at the game's overall scope as well.

Robert's been a dedicated PlayStation fan since the days of Tekken 2, and he still loves a good dust up. When he's not practising combos, he's usually getting lost in the latest 100-hour RPG, or, y'know, replaying The Witcher 3.
Odd they would release a next gen remake/remaster of the first one, to only just then announce this sequel. I’m sure it’ll ride over fans, but for PS5 people to never have purchased the first game (and buy the remaster if they redeemed it through plus) seems like a weird double dip so close between announcements…
@TheTSTGuy agree with that
I'm a sucker and will no doubt get it but it's gonna have to have a lot of the features the DLC added when it launches, or it will be a sale purchase for me. No way I'm buying a strip backed base game and a load of DLC at full price.
Can you stop with this «on ps5» bs and pretending it's a «ps5 game» only already
