The 7.0.0.5 hotfix for Destiny 2 has introduced a number of fixes and changes for the game, including a nerf to the Titan exotic gauntlets Synthoceps which has resulted in players dealing more damage with unpowered melees than glaives while using the exotic. This isn't the first nerf that Destiny 2's community of Titan players have seen lately, with several other popular Titan exotic armor pieces receiving reductions in capability around the launch of the game's latest expansion.
Hotfix 7.0.0.5 provides a long list of fixes, many of which have been eagerly anticipated by fans since the launch of Destiny 2: Lightfall. The removal of the infamous invisibility bug which has been plaguing Crucible rosters in particular seemed to have been one of Bungie's top priorities with this update, though several progression and ability-related bugs have also been fixed. Additionally, the developers have also made changes to several aspects of gameplay, seemingly in response to widespread player feedback. An increase in exotic drop rate from Legend lost sectors provides a slightly better chance of worthwhile rewards, and commendation score requirements for achieving higher Guardian ranks have also been massively reduced.

A less-expected change, however, was Bungie's decision to drastically reduce the damage buff provided to glaives by the Titan exotic Synthoceps in both PvP and PvE.
