One gamer recently came across a piece of gaming nostalgia when they found a receipt for a GameCube console. While the newest gaming systems, such as the Xbox Series X/S and PS5, receive most of the attention these days with popular games like Hogwarts Legacy released on them, many gamers still appreciate the consoles from previous generations, such as the GameCube.
First released in 2001, the GameCube was aptly named as it had a distinct cube shape. In addition to this unique design, it had improved performance over the N64, with the graphics of many games looking much better on the system. While the GameCube was not one of Nintendo’s best-selling consoles, it was home to a number of classic games. Several examples of popular titles on the system included Super Mario Sunshine, Mario Kart Double Dash, and The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, to name a few. Recently, one fan known as Vitamin-A- shared a picture of a receipt they discovered from when they purchased their GameCube console in 2001. The image revealed their nostalgic find, with the piece of paper showing the expected wear and tear for something over 21 years old. Based on the picture, Vitamin-A- purchased their GameCube at a Walmart and paid $199 for the system, with the grand total being $211.44 with tax.
