A fan of The Last of Us has created a pixel art piece of the game. The fan shared an image of the piece that shows a pixel-style image of Joel and Ellie from a famous scene in the award-winning game.
Developed by Naughty Dog and published by Sony for the PlayStation 4, The Last of Us Part 2 was released in June 2020. It picks up after the events of the original Last of Us game, with the primary playable character this time around being Ellie.
The Last of Us 2 Developer Shows How Much Work Went Into Minor Feature
The image was shared last week on Reddit by a user named SaintCarbonara with the caption, “The Last of Us pixel art by me.” The piece features a creatively designed pixilated image of Joel and Ellie from The Last of Us Part 2, with Ellie wearing a space helmet and two of them smiling. The background features a space theme with planets and a shuttle above Ellie’s head. In the top left corner is The Last of Us title, which is also in a pixel-style font, bringing the piece together as a truly unique work.
The Last of Us 2 scene featured in the image is reminiscent of a quite emotional flashback from the game where Joel takes Ellie to a museum. After being greeted by a massive T-rex statue outside, Joel and Ellie proceed to walk around the museum and explore the dinosaur section and the space section of the museum. Joel surprises Ellie by showing her a replica space capsule and a recording of an actual shuttle launch that the two listen to while lying in the capsule together. The moment is an emotional one, only furthering the father-daughter bond between the two characters.
