Apart from its visuals, the Resident Evil 4 remake also made a lot of changes in the game, and one of them involves the Merchant. Resident Evil 4's iconic NPC has assisted many players with his helpful wares throughout the years, and they seem excited to see him again in the remake.
Originally released in 2005, Resident Evil 4 centers around special agent Leon Kennedy as he rescues the US president's daughter Ashley Graham from an evil religious cult in Spain. The survivor horror was considered as the best game in the Resident Evil franchise by players and critics alike because of its exciting gameplay and storyline. Apart from Leon and Ashley, it's also remembered for its memorable enemies and NPCs, like the Chainsaw Man, Dr. Salvador, and the Merchant.

Spotted by YouTuber GameXplain, Leon will automatically lower his gun when it's pointed towards the NPC, letting him live another day.
In the past, Resident Evil 4 developer Capcom revealed many changes made for the remake. One of the biggest changes was making Ashley more self-reliant, which is an improvement from the 2005 game where players were burdened with commanding her to stay put and hide. Capcom also removed certain elements from the game in hopes of improving the overall experience, like QTEs, the crane mini-game that players pushed enemies off a ledge with, and the laser room.
