If there’s an SOS on today’s puzzle, there are a lot of various ways that we can help you and answer that summons. I was not sure what was going on at all when I first opened the puzzle, and I was hoping for a bit of a rescue as well. Unfortunately, I have to self-rescue if I want to get anywhere, and today I was able to get the signals coming from the puzzle and put them all together to get the right combination. If you are looking for a different kind of way to scratch the word puzzle itch, you should check out the game from the NYT. The game gives you tons of options for exploring the dictionary. You will give a set of letters every day that will allow you to attempt to build words from them and find out just how important vowels are. It’s a tricky one, but it is fun and satisfying to finish.
I stared at this one for a little while, but I was eventually able to piece it together. There were several words that I initially thought went in the same category that I later realized I was wrong about. I also got one category completely by accident, but I was not mad about it at all. This was the first one I got but it was a bit of a struggle. I was looking at ROOSTER and SUNRISE as possible words in this category and even SLEEP as well. This is because they are all sort of considered “alarms” and the word SLEEP is on an alarm. This is often a category or theme, so it was a bit of a challenge to separate.
