Between Vicarious Visions being merged into Blizzard and Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 having been reportedly cancelled, the future wasn’t exactly looking bright for Activision’s beloved skating series. As luck would have it, however, it seems it’s getting a second second chance.
A new Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater remaster is in development, professional skater Tyshawn Jones has claimed. Jones, who was featured in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2’s roster, recently appeared on the Breakfast Club podcast, where he claimed that a new Tony Hawk remaster is in the pipeline. Apparently, Jones will be included in the upcoming title’s roster as well.
“I’m in a Tony Hawk coming out, that’s cool,” he said (via VGC). “They got a new one they remastering so that’s about to come out, I was in the last one.”
This isn’t the first time we’ve seen hints of the Tony Hawk franchise returning from the dead (again). Tony Hawk himself said in September that he was working with Activision on something fans of the series would appreciate. Later that same month, he assured that “there will be a future” for the franchise.
Activision or Microsoft have yet to make an official announcement regarding Tony Hawk. Stay tuned for more updates in the coming weeks and months.
