Destiny 2's next big seasonal event, the Guardian Games, is due to kick off on May 2, and a big portion of its featured batch of goodies has just been leaked via data mining. Bungie's flagship live service title has often been the target of various data mining efforts, and many times they ended up revealing upcoming loot, events, quests, and other assorted items well ahead of time.
In fact, 2021's Destiny 2 Guardian Games leaked in their entirety, with the data miners going so far as to scrape information for individual challenges, bounties, and progression systems, giving players a good look at what to expect from the event. Bungie has had better luck with Guardian Games 2023, with the event remaining mostly a mystery, except for its unique armor sets and the new weapon.
Destiny 2 Players Stumbles into Obscure Emote Bug
As Destiny 2 players get ready for Guardian Games 2023, which will run in May, data miners have gotten to work to show everyone what sort of armor sets and weapons Bungie may have in store this time around. The selection of new loot seems to follow the usual Guardian Games formula, with a new sports-themed armor set available for each of the three character classes, a unique class item, and a new weapon. The good news for fashion-minded players is that the new armor appears to be almost fully customizable, whereas some of the previous sets had large uncolorable portions.
The unique class items will, as usual, reflect the status of the ongoing Guardian Games festivities. Each item has a large metal portion that changes materials between gold, silver, and bronze, depending on which class might be winning at the time.
