A recently-added World of Warcraft quest just teased a new race possibly joining the Horde in the future. While there would be all sorts of potential problems with adding this playable race in World of Warcraft, a new block of quest text has given players renewed hope.
The horse-like Centaur have been in World of Warcraft since the days of Warcraft 3. They primarily appeared as enemies and mercenaries in early WoW, but they made a resurgence in Dragonflight with the Maruuk Centaur as one of the four major Renown factions players could gain reputation with.

Now, some new quest text recently added to Dragonflight has teased the possibility of the Centaur joining the Horde. Once players have completed the Old Hatreds questline featuring Baine Bloodhoof inWorld of Warcraft Patch 10.0.7, the Windtotem Tauren camp slowly begins to change as time passes, after which a Tauren named Ironhoof can be found in the camp. When spoken to, he mentions the Tauren are warming to the Centaur slowly, despite the generational conflict with their cousins from the Barrens, and he makes a comment speculating they might one day join the Horde before flashing a knowing smile.
This could be World of Warcraft’s way of hinting the next Horde Allied Race might be the Centaur. Ironhoof first appeared in the 2013 graphic novel Bloodsworn, where he and a group of warriors fought alongside a Centaur named Dorthar who later went on to join the Horde. It seems no coincidence WoW chose to have Ironhoof be the character to make such a comment.
