After several delays to address an issue, New World’s Fellowship & Fire update is now live. While there are people enjoying the new update, some are reporting significant bugs, like their gear having gone missing.
Along with the new story content and Season Pass reward tracks, the update is the first of the new seasonal model, so the update is an important one. There are a number of balance changes, fixes, and quality of life changes in addition to the flashier content. The Empyrean Forge Expedition, the Fire Storm Heartrune, and the new shiny reward stuff have been talked about, but for now, it seems there’s a need to get to the bottom of some significant patch issues.
A number of players have been reporting on the New World forums, Reddit, and elsewhere that when they logged in after the patch, their equipped gear was gone. While there are many players who were able to successfully log in and start playing without any gear bugs, the issue is widespread enough that there are a number of people sharing bug reports in order for the Amazon Games team to look into it.
Since the update had been delayed to fix a major issue with the team saying that they wanted to make sure to get it right for the release, these bugs are a bit of a disappointment.
After investigating, CM Luxendra confirmed that the team had isolated the missing gear issue and the issue “only affects characters that disconnected from New World before the Season 1 update, and were either killed before the next login, or disconnect the Death’s Door screen”.
