In light of the recent passing of actor Lance Reddick, Bungie has revealed that Reddick’s character in Destiny and its sequel—Zavala—will continue to appear in future Destiny content.
“For now, we will honor his presence through his performances yet to come in the game, and in the memories that will last us a lifetime,” said Bungie in the latest edition of its weekly blog posts. “We are deeply saddened by his passing but so thankful for the time we spent together, and our thoughts are with his friends and loved ones.”
Among several roles Reddick played throughout his career, his work as Zavala was praised by those who played Destiny and Destiny 2. On the announcement of his passing, several Destiny players took to visiting Zavala’s spot in the game’s social hub to pay their respects to the actor.
Another game featuring Reddick’s work, Horizon Forbidden West, is set to bring his character—Sylens—back for the release of its upcoming Burning Shores DLC. Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores is slated to hit the PS5 on April 19.
