Stephanie Reddick, the wife of Lance Reddick, has expressed her gratitude over the "overwhelming love and support" the family has received since her husband's passing yesterday morning. In the statement, she specifically mentions the Destiny community, thanking them for the in-game tributes and support.
Lance Reddick, who played Commander Zavala in both Destiny games, passed away yesterday morning from natural causes. He was just 60 years old. From gaming to television, the entertainment industry as a whole is mourning Reddick, who is being praised for elevating any project he was in, and always giving an incredible, iconic performance no matter the role or the medium.

"Lance was taken from us far too soon," says Stephanie, in her first public statement since the passing of her husband. "Thank you for all your overwhelming love, support and beautiful stories shared on these platforms over the last day. I see your messages and can't begin to express how grateful I am to have them."
She continues, thanking the gaming community in particular. "To the thousands of Destiny players who played in special tribute to Lance, thank you. Lance loved you as much as he loved the game."
Tributes are still being made in Destiny 2 today, with players logging in to stand in silence out of respect for Lance. Bungie has also issued a statement, calling Reddick an "iconic presence on screen, in Destiny, and most importantly, in person." It continues: "To say he will be missed is a profound understatement, yet no less true."
