Celebrated actor Lance Reddick, who may be best known to gamers for voicing Commander Zavala in Destiny 2, has died at age 60. Reddick was found dead at his home on the morning of Friday, March 17. His cause of death has not been released at the time of this writing.
Reddick had a legendary career in the entertainment industry. Reddick had decades of film and television credits under his belt, with some of his most notable performances featured in TV series like The Wire and Fringe, as well as movies like the John Wick franchise. In fact, Reddick reprised his role as Charon in the upcoming John Wick: Chapter 4, which will open in theaters on Friday, March 24.
TMZ has reported, according to its sources, that Reddick's death was by natural causes. The TMZ report noted that Reddick was oddly absent from the John Wick: Chapter 4 premiere earlier this week, but it's unclear if that's somehow related to his untimely passing.
John Wick: Chapter 4 isn't the only project Reddick had completed before his death on March 17. 2023 will see multiple posthumous releases for the celebrated actor. Reddick will appear as Zeus in Percy Jackson and the Olympians on Disney+, and he will also be featured in the films White Men Can't Jump and Ballerina. Ballerina is a spin-off of the John Wick franchise and is expected to be Reddick's final film appearance when it comes out.
While he may be best known for his roles in movies and TV, Reddick also had a successful career in the video game industry. Besides his memorable portrayal of Commander Zavala in the Destiny franchise, Reddick also appeared in 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand, Quantum Break, Payday 2, and both Horizon games.
