Bungie has confirmed that the late Lance Reddick will appear in future Destiny content.
The actor, who was found dead at his home last week, was widely known in the gaming world for his role as Commander Zavala in Destiny.
In a blog post, Bungie has said it plans to “honor his presence through his performances yet to come in the game.”
“The tributes that have poured in for Lance have been overwhelming; from endless heartfelt messages on social media to impromptu gatherings of respect in Zavala’s corner of the Tower, overlooking the Last City,” Bungie wrote.
“As an actor, musician, gamer, and family man, the passion Lance brought to the things he loved was reflected in the eyes and hearts of all who loved him.
“For now, we will honor his presence through his performances yet to come in the game, and in the memories that will last us a lifetime.
“We are deeply saddened by his passing but so thankful for the time we spent together, and our thoughts are with his friends and loved ones.”
Reddick also played Sylens in Guerrilla‘s Horizon Zero Dawn and Horizon: Forbidden West.
“Thank you, Lance Reddick, for everything you’ve brought to the character of Sylens, for sharing y our infinite talent and wisdom with us, for your generous warmth and inimitable presence, and for your profound impact not just as part of our cast, but on our community,” the Sony studio said in a statement last week.
“We were deeply honored to work with you. You will be missed. We extend our most heartfelt condolences to his loved ones.”
It’s unclear if Reddick will appear in Horizon: Forbidden West’s upcoming Burning Shores expansion.
