Gaming insider Jeff Grubb has suggested that a PlayStation Showcase could happen towards the end of May, or at least before Summer Game Fest.
Not counting State of Play showcases, which are usually smaller and focused on one game, it's been some time since we last had a big showcase of what PlayStation has in store for us in the coming years. The last showcase was towards the end of 2021 and gave us our first look at God of War Ragnarok, alongside the reveal of the Knights of the Old Republic remake, alongside a few other surprises.

We've not heard anything about a new PlayStation Showcase in some time, but recent rumours have suggested that it could be coming sooner than we think and should be happening before Summer Game Fest. This rumour comes courtesy of GamesBeat's Jeff Grubb, who said in a recent episode of Games Mess Mornings that he expects the showcase to happen in May, or at least before Summer Game Fest, which is scheduled for June 8.
While talking about upcoming gaming events, Grubb said, "Now before Summer Game Fest, what I have listed here, The PlayStation Showcase, still hear that's coming, I'd probably safely say that's May at this point, but in general I'm going to continue saying before Summer Game Fest because that's the safest way of doing it. But yes, May, maybe very very early June, that seems like the right time to get that PlayStation showcase."
Although the last PlayStation Showcase was in September, it'd make more sense for PlayStation to host it a little earlier this year, as one of its major releases of 2023, Spider-Man 2, is seemingly targeting September as its release month. We've yet to see anything major on the game, so it'd make
