NetherRealm Studios today confirmed that the next Mortal Kombat game’s reveal is set for tomorrow, May 18.
After weeks of teasing, the end is finally here. The twelfth mainline entry in the Mortal Kombat franchise, reportedly titled Mortal Kombat 1, will be officially revealed tomorrow at 9am ET / 6am PT. The reveal comes from a short teaser with the minute hand stuck on 1 and the clock’s glass breaking.

Mortal Kombat 1 is highly expected to be a reboot of the franchise following the events of Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath. In what is expected to be the canon ending, Fire God Liu Kang resets the Mortal Kombat timeline and visits the Great Kung Lao. Whether this means the new game focuses on the past or fast forwards to the original game’s time period is a mystery. Regardless of the rebooted nature of this game, we’d still expect many familiar faces to make it onto the roster. The game is expected to launch on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC. and Switch.
Make sure to check back tomorrow for the official reveal.
