The wait is finally over: the next Mortal Kombat game, strongly rumoured to be named Mortal Kombat 1, will be officially revealed tomorrow, 18th May, at 6AM PT. If you’re not sure what time to be perched in front of your web browser of choice, we’ve compiled a handy little timezone guide below:
According to strong speculation, the new game from NetherRealm Studios is targeting a September 2023 release date, and will represent a reboot for the series. Despite this, there’ll be guest characters, including Peacemaker and Homelander – both of which are expected to be part of a Kharacter Pass, coming post-release.
It’s possible tomorrow’s reveal may be little more than a teaser for the incoming PS Showcase, as Sony has been a strong supporter of Mortal Kombat 11 for years now, hosting various competitions as part of its PS Tournaments esports initiative. We’ll find out more in the coming hours, when the first information officially drops.
A true PlayStation veteran, Sammy's covered the world of PS gaming for years, with an enormous Trophy count to prove it. He also likes tennis games way more than you.
