The cast continues to grow. Just under a week after it found its Jade, the Mortal Kombat movie has found its Kitana in actor Adeline Rudolph.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Rudolph will be joining the cast as the Edenian princess alongside Tati Gabrielle’s Jade. Rudolph is known for playing Agatha in Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and Billie Wesker in the maligned Resident Evil Netflix series. Gabrielle and Rudolph were also both in Chilling Adventures together and will likely be close in the film, given how Jade is often Kitana’s bodyguard.
It was presumed that Kitana would be in the sequel, as one of her iconic fans was in the background in the 2021 film. Kitana was also reported to be one of the characters from the franchise to make an appearance in Mortal Kombat 2.
This is the third casting choice regarding Mortal Kombat 2, as, in addition to the aforementioned Jade casting, Karl Urban has been cast as Johnny Cage. While other actors haven’t been named yet, Moon Knight writer Jeremy Slate is writing the sequel, and Simon McQuoid is returning to the director’s chair.
