The video game announcement season is in full swing--PlayStation and Xbox and Summer Game Fest, oh my!--and Ubisoft is gearing up for its next Ubisoft Forward presentation on June 12. The publisher released a brief teaser for the event today, and it seems a new mystery game will be among the reveals.
The video shows a group of people checking out scenes from previous Ubisoft press conferences, with everything from Just Dance dance groups to the infamous Mr. Caffeine flashing on the screen. We then see clips of Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Assassin's Creed Mirage, and The Crew Motorfest before a wavy black and gold cloth-like material is shown on screen. A woman watching asks, «wait, what's that game?» and the video ends.
The three confirmed games are no surprise, as all three have been slated for either 2023 or early 2024 by Ubisoft itself. Assassin's Creed is the only game with a solid release date of October 17, while The Crew and Avatar are both listed as «2023.»
This presentation will mark the tail end of a busy week in video game related showcases, which begins with Summer Game Fest on June 8 at 12 PM PT / 3 PM ET. Three days later on June 11, Xbox will take the stage with two presentations, first the Xbox Showcase at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET, and then the Starfield Direct immediately following it.
Ubisoft Forward is scheduled to begin on June 12 at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET.
