Ubisoft Montpellier, the developers behind Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, is aware of some of the negative reactions to the reveal, noting that it "welcomes all reactions, positive and negative".
One of the biggest and best surprises of Summer Game Fest happened right at the start of the show when Ubisoft revealed Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, a stylish 2D Metroidvania from the team behind Rayman Origins and Rayman Legends. Despite a strong trailer that set the tone, showed gameplay, and confirmed a release date all in one, it seems that most Prince of Persia "fans" aren't on board with The Lost Crown as the reveal trailer was quickly flooded with dislikes and complaints about the new direction.

The overwhelmingly negative response to The Lost Crown hasn't died down in the days since it was revealed, but it seems like it's not bothering Ubisoft Montpellier that much. While reminding everyone that we'll get to see more of the game at Ubisoft Forward on Monday, the team confirmed that it was aware of the backlash by noting that it welcomes all reactions, both positive and negative, while promising that concerns and questions will be answered over the next few weeks.
Via the official Prince of Persia Twitter account, Ubisoft Montpellier said, "We welcome all your reactions, positive and negative. And, please know, that a lot of your questions and concerns will find answers in the following days and weeks. Just you wait!".
