AMD has apparently forgotten to launch its performance-boosting HYPR-RX technology as the planned launch period has now gone past.
To recap, AMD announced the HYPR-RX technology alongside the release of its flagship RX 7900 XTX & RX 7900 XT GPUs all the way back in November 2022. The feature is expected to be a "one-click" performance boost, activating AMD Anti-Lag, Radeon Boost, and Radeon Super Resolution (RSR).
These are the set of technologies that have existed for a while now. AMD planned to incorporate all these into a single feature, allowing easier consumer access to these technologies.
For those unaware of the technologies mentioned above, Anti-Lag is AMD's way of reducing input lag by bridging the gap between user input and output display. This is ideal for competitive gameplay where the smallest millisecond is essential. Radeon Boost, when activated, lowers the resolution in fast-motion scenarios allowing it to reach higher FPS with less compromise of quality. The feature makes fast-paced titles much easier since every motion is appropriately visible.
Finally, the Radeon Super Resolution is an upscaling technology, much similar to FSR 1.0, but instead, this time, the changes are made on the driver platform rather than in-game. This made the feature available on any title since it doesn't require support from game developers. It also contributes to achieving a higher frame rate; hence it is ideal for low-spec devices.
AMD's HYPR-RX technology is still nowhere to be seen, even though the company pledged an H1 2023 launch. The company also announced FSR 3 "FidelityFX Super Resolution 3" the same day as HYPR-RX but there's no word when it would launch either. One of AMD's biggest sponsored titles, Starfield, only
