Publisher Arc System Works and developer APlus Games will release River City: Rival Showdown for PlayStation 4, Switch, and PC via Steam on October 12 worldwide for $24.99 / 3,740 yen, the companies announced. It will support English, Japanese, Korean, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese language options.

In Japan, the PlayStation 4 and Switch versions will be available both physically and digitally. Early purchases include the River City: Rival Showdown Original Soundtrack DX, a one-disc soundtrack CD containing 29 tracks.

River City: Rival Showdown first launched for 3DS on October 27, 2016 in Japan, followed by November 21, 2017 worldwide.
