Alienware has introduced its brand new Aurora R16 line of gaming PCs which feature a brand new design, better cooling & top-tier hardware.
The new Aurora R16 Gaming PCs from Alienware focus to improve two key areas, first is overall acoustics and thermals & the second is a brand new design language known as "Legend 3" that offers:
While the Aurora 16 is the successor to the previous-gen Aurora R15, it features a vastly different design. The iconic circular and alienesque case design has been changed to a more traditional PC chassis design. According to Alienware, the new design offers 20% lower noise, 10% lower CPU & 6% lower GPU temps. The chassis features a 40% decrease in total volume but the internal volume remains the same at 25.2L. The new chassis measures 458.4x197x418mm and weighs 15.37kg.
An interesting design choice is the "AlienFX Stadium Loop" pattern on the front of the chassis which is used to channel air towards the internal. This intake features a 120mm front intake fan to suck in air from the front mesh design to cool the internal hardware components. Other cooling hardware includes up to a 240mm AIO liquid cooler with dual 120mm top-loaded fans and a 120mm fan on the back of the chassis which features RGB "AlienFX" illumination. The AlienFX loop also features the same RGB lighting which looks great.
