Larian Studios' Baldur's Gate 3 has been a popular topic for RPG lovers since its release, and the developers have been hard at work addressing various bugs and listening to player feedback. The game's first minor patch has been rolled out, but even as a “small” patch, it's a hefty one, addressing over 150 bugs. Among these myriad fixes, one issue many players should be happy to have fixed is the cross-save problem.
Many players reported a significant issue where they couldn't save their game progress. It turns out that the very feature designed to help players save their game across devices was the culprit. The cross-save feature, intended to allow players to save their game and continue on another device, was preventing some from saving their game at all. Thankfully, this bug has now been addressed, and turned off for the time being, ensuring a seamless gaming experience for all. It’s important to note that this cross-save issue does not affect the Steam Cloud-Save feature, and cloud-saves are still available for Baldurians that prefer to save their game to Steam’s cloud servers.
The patch also brought a slew of other notable fixes. For instance, the game's AI has seen improvements, multiplayer mode synchronization is better, and graphics rendering has been enhanced. But for those that had to live with the frustration of losing their progress, the cross-save fix is undoubtedly the highlight, given its impact on gameplay.
