According to the official Larian Studios Baldur’s Gate 3 multiplayer information page, we learn that BG3 does have multiplayer — both four-player online multiplayer and splitscreen on the PC (and I’m guessing on console too when that comes out). Baldur’s Gate 3 also has cross-platform multiplayer on PC and Mac across GOG and Steam. But does Baldur’s Gate 3 have cross-play from PC and Mac to consoles?
It has been confirmed that on launch, Baldur’s Gate 3 won’t have cross-platform multiplayer between PC and console players on PlayStation and Xbox. Now, Larian Studios hasn’t confirmed of denied PC and console cross-play coming later. BG3 was in early access development for three years, anything can happen.
The silver lining is that Baldur’s Gate 3 does have cross-platform support, meaning you can play your saved game on your console, PC, or Steam Deck. While cross-platform isn’t cross-play, it’s nice to know that feature exists.
To enable cross-platform, you need to create a Larian Studios account and sign into it. Sign into your Larian Studios account on PC or console — whatever you’re currently on — and you’ll be able to access any saved games you have.
