Though it seemed for a while that Baldur’s Gate 3 might not be able to hit Xbox Series X/S util next year, Larian Studios recently confirmed that the acclaimed RPG will indeed be coming to Xbox in 2023, with splitscreen co-op not supported on Xbox Series S. The studio also confirmed that the game’s Xbox version will support cross-saves with PC, though Larian Studios’ director of publishing Michael Douse has since then clarified that that won’t be all.
Taking to Twitter, Douse confirmed that Baldur’s Gate 3’s Xbox version will feature cross-save compatibility with the PC version, but with the PS5 version as well. Thanks to the Larian accounts system, a save file on one platform will be compatible on all of them- though you will, of course, need to make a Larian account for that.
Larian Studios recently also released Baldur’s Gate 3’s first major patch, bringing over 1,000 fixes and improvements to the game. Read more on that through here.
Baldur’s Gate 3 is currently available only on PC. The PS5 version launches on September 6.
For the avoidance of doubt, Xbox will indeed feature cross-save not only between Xbox and PC but also Xbox and PlayStation 5, thanks to our Larian accounts system.
