Larian boss Swen Vincke has revealed that the studio is currently working on a number of updates to critically-acclaimed RPG Baldur’s Gate 3. Among updates coming to the game, it is slated to get Hotfix 4, its first major patch with over 1,000 fixes and tweaks, and a second patch that will bring in some fan-requested features to the game.
While the scope of the fixes and tweaks in patch 1, and fan-requested features coming to the game in patch 2 are currently unknown, we’re quite likely to see a number of new options in how we play Baldur’s Gate 3, including potentially support for mods with good tools.
Baldur’s Gate 3 has been quite successful since its official launch earlier this month, and Vincke has in the past also stated that the game will likely give players the ability to modify how their character looks. This might be one of the fan-requested features we see released as part of patch 2.
Last week, Larian released a host of stats for the launch weekend for Baldur’s Gate 3, revealing that it was played for a total of 1,225 years during its first weekend.
We're all very enthused by your feedback. It's very rewarding. Our focus now is fixing any issues you report, but we are listening to suggestions. Current roadmap: a) Hotfix 4, b) Patch 1 (+1000 fixes and tweaks), c) Patch 2. The latter will already incorporate some requests.
