As expected, Baldur's Gate 3 continues to rise. On the third day since launch, it set its third concurrent player peak record, replacing Respawn's popular free-to-play Battle Royale game Apex Legends in Steam's all-time Top 10 concurrent player peak with 646K users registered by SteamDB.
At this point, it's not at all far off from the ninth spot, which is currently occupied by Gaggle Studios' indie game Goose Goose Duck with 702K concurrent players). The eighth spot, occupied by Avalanche Software's megahit Hogwarts Legacy, currently seems a bit too far with its 879K all-time peak.
While the developers are certainly quite elated with these player figures, they're also continuing to fix and improve the game. A few hours ago, they deployed the first Baldur's Gate 3 hotfix, which fixes a ton of bugs and also temporarily disables cross-saves. This feature is currently unused anyway, as it will only come in handy when the PlayStation 5 version debuts on September 6th, and it was causing a few issues.

In the meantime, following the release of the Party Size increase mod (which has now received an update to not only be compatible with the hotfix but also allow for up to 16-player groups), there's another noteworthy mod up on Nexus. This one unlocks the default level cap of Baldur's Gate 3, which is 12, to potentially allow players to get to D&D's traditional level cap of 20. There is one caveat in that you won't be able to exceed level 12 with any individual class.
