For this year, Ice Universe predicts that while the maximum camera resolution of the new flagship will be the same, Apple is said to incorporate the more advanced Sony IMX903 48MP unit.
In his tweet, the tipster writes that the main sensor will be closer to 1-inch in dimensions, but not quite, as it will still be smaller than the camera present in the newly launched Xiaomi 13 Ultra. The sensor size of the iPhone 15 Pro Max’s main camera is said to measure 1/1.14 inches, which is slightly bigger than the 1/1.28 inches belonging to the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max.

This change in dimension suggests that the rear camera bump of the iPhone 15 Pro Max will be larger this year, as shown in earlier renders of the iPhone 15 Pro, meaning that the iPhone 14 Pro Max cases will likely not fit in this year’s flagship.
