The iPhone 15 Pro Max will have the most hardware upgrades out of any iPhone model scheduled to launch later this year. Apple is said to focus heavily on the camera internals, and while both ‘Pro’ models are said to receive an unchanged primary sensor, the bigger model will have advanced capabilities when it comes to capturing zoomed images and video. One tipster has provided an update related to the periscope zoom lens, but this is an upgrade that the majority of readers have known about for quite a while.
Information regarding the iPhone 15 Pro Max featuring the exclusive periscope zoom lens was shared by Twitter user @URedditor, but unfortunately, his update may have been far too late. Rumors surrounding this upgrade have been disseminating since the start of 2022, though there were some whispers talking about the smaller and less expensive iPhone 15 Pro also being treated to the periscope zoom camera. Sadly, it was not to be, allowing Apple to capitalize on this upgrade by charging customers more.
The tipster also responds to a tweet in the thread, stating that the camera layout of the iPhone 15 Pro Max is not expected to change, though we should see a prism-like shape inside one of the cameras, which will be a firm giveaway that this flagship is sporting that exclusive upgrade. As for the zooming capabilities, our previous report stated that the iPhone 15 Pro Max would be able to capture images and video with a 6x zoom, which is more than twice the zoom limit on the iPhone 14 Pro Max.
Finally received independent confirmation of this:
Periscope lens will be available exclusively on the iPhone 15 Pro Max.
