Bossa Games' latest title is called Lost Skies. Inspired by their previous game, Worlds Adrift, Lost Skies is an open-world co-op PvE survival game scheduled to launch in 2023.
According to a blog post on the Lost Skies website, the upcoming survival game shares the same universe as their previous survival PvP MMO, but is a distinct game all its own. Built for both multiplayer and solo play, players will be exploring Foundation to «tame its wilderness and bring order to a shattered world.»
«Lost Skies is a distillation of gameplay we love, made for you to share with friends. Foundation, its setting, will challenge your band of ingenious survivalists to tame its wilderness and bring order to a shattered world, broken apart by unknown entities you are destined to fight. Together, your crew of adventurers have an infinitude of possibilities — a sky full of mystery, lore, and threats, all approached in your own way.»
Billed as a PvE game (though Bossa Games does state you can make your own Lost Skies server PvP should you choose), the team is looking to build a «good sandbox game» which «sets a strong stage, with clear rules, and lets players devise their own strategies» to overcome the game's obstacles. Lost Skies drops you in Foundation with nothing but the skin on your back, and from there you'll need to survive — though with a twist.
«But the commonality with the traditional survival genre ends here, as your initial tasks are geared towards building your first skyship. In Lost Skies, you are meant to live among the clouds.»
Lost Skies is set to launch sometime in 2024. You can check out the animated trailer in the YouTube embed below, and wishlist the survival game on Steam if you're interested.
