WWDC 2023 event is right around the corner and Apple is gearing up to announce a boatload of software updates alongside the highly anticipated AR Headset and the 15-inch MacBook Air. iOS 17 will detail some of the features that will be coming with the iPhone 15 lineup later this year. We have previously reported that Apple will introduce a Periscope lens with the iPhone 15 Pro Max later this year. Now, a prominent analyst claims that both, iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will come with a periscope lens. Scroll down to read more details on the subject.
In a post on Medium by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple will streamline the iPhone 16 Pro models by offering a periscope lens on both models. Currently, only the iPhone 15 Pro Max is expected to feature a periscope lens. The smaller 'Pro' will feature upgraded camera features but would lack the periscope lens. What this means is that the iPhone 15 Pro Max will be the most desirable product out of the bunch.
If you are not familiar with the capabilities of the periscope lens, it allows the light to be reflected at a 90-degree angle on multiple lenses and onto the camera sensor. Compared to the telephoto lens, the length of the lens becomes longer, allowing for enhanced zooming capabilities. It was previously coined by the analyst that the iPhone's periscope lens will offer up to 6x optical zoom. Take note that you will have the option to zoom further but the device will rely on digital solution rather than optical. If the news has any heft to it, it will be great to see a periscope lens on the smaller iPhone 16 Pro model.
