The Old Guard 2 is scheduled to make its debut on July 2, 2025, exclusively on Netflix. Besides Theron, the sequel will also feature returning cast members KiKi Layne as Nile, Matthias Schoenaerts as Booker, Marwan Kenzari as Joe, Luca Marinelli as Nicky, Veronica Ngo as Quynh, and Chiwetel Ejiofor as Copley. They will be joined by new characters, portrayed by Uma Thurman (Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill) and Henry Golding (Crazy Rich Asians, The Gentlemen).
“Andy and her team of immortal warriors return to protect humanity from a formidable new enemy who threatens their existence,” reads the official synopsis. “Fans will recall that The Old Guard ended on an unresolved note. After Booker (Schoenaerts) betrays the group, he gets exiled for a century — only to find the long-lost Quynh (Ngô) lurking in his apartment. What does she want? Only one thing’s for certain — the action will be bigger and bolder than ever, and the film will take you to places you’ve never seen before.”
The sequel is directed by Victoria Mahoney from a screenplay written by Greg Rucka and Sarah L. Walker, based on Rucka and artist Leandro Fernandez’s comic book of the same name. It is produced by original director Gina Prince-Bythewood, Skydance’s David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Don Granger, along with Marc Evans & Denver and Delilah’s Charlize Theron, Beth Kono, and A.J. Dix.
