We have learned that Blizzard has introduced the first iteration for the sake of readability and accessibility. This decision, however, did not add to the incredible amount of immersion present in Diablo IV.
In fact, the sans-serif, Arial-looking font felt out of place and very much not like other Diablo versions. As shownin our first report about the font change, this mostly stems from the fact that Exocet, the heavily stylized «Diablo» font, has been used excessively in earlier titles of the franchise.
