A crafty Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom player has shown off an impressive custom battle machine that can swat Link’s enemies away like flies. Tears of the Kingdom was one of the biggest releases of 2023, smashing sales records mere months after its May launch on the Nintendo Switch and earning widespread praise for its expansion of the free-roaming formula introduced in 2017’s Breath of the Wild. One of Tears of the Kingdom’s biggest additions is a surprisingly versatile crafting mechanic, which players can use to create all manner of vehicles and contraptions to help Link bring peace to the realm of Hyrule once again.
As one might expect, the internet has been flooded with videos and screenshots of strange and stunning inventions players have cooked up in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, to the point where there are now fan-made databases for the machines people have scrapped together using the natural resources of Hyrule. From remote-controlled battle tanks to dragon-like mechanical gliders that enable Link to roam the skies, there seems to be no limit to what players can create in Tears of the Kingdom, save for their own imaginations.
Yet another talented Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom player posted a clip of their latest invention on r/HyruleEngineering, a subreddit dedicated to cataloging such fan-made contraptions. Dubbed “the Golf Cart,” GrahamCray’s battle wagon features two giant, spinning paddles on the front that send enemies flying into the air. Other Reddit users are impressed with GrahamCray’s work, with some even joking that the massive paddles have more in common with hockey sticks than the golf clubs they are named after.
