A dedicated Starfield player has found a use for all the junk items found in the open-world RPG, showing off a beautifully decorated outpost made from them. While Starfield was met with a mixed response from fans when the game launched in September 2023, there has still been a dedicated community celebrating Bethesda’s space opera.
In Starfield, outposts can be used for many different purposes, but primarily players use them to recuperate after tough missions or to store their loot. With Bethesda allowing gamers to customize the outposts in Starfield as they see fit, fans have been spending hours meticulously planning how each of these makeshift homes is presented. One player has even taken this a step further by using junk items found during their missions.
On Reddit, a user by the name of Imaginary-Rent-4200 has showcased all that can be done with the junk items scattered throughout Starfield’s expansive galaxy. The player has managed to take discarded items and organize them in a way that makes their outpost look homely. In the gallery of images, folks can see how the original poster took everyday objects such as coffee machines, plates, and martini glasses and outfitted their kitchen space to look as if it was functional.
There are certainly fans of Imaginary-Rent-4200’s work, with the post amassing 3k upvotes at the time of writing and most of the replies praising the patience it took to create a lived-in abode. The original poster, however, does caution against inviting any of the Starfield companions if players are going to attempt this tidy-up, as they can cause havoc if they clamber over any furniture in the room.
Despite the mixed response to Starfield at launch, Bethesda is continuing to support those gamers who jet off into its vast galaxy.
