Updated on January 24, 2024, by Josh Coulson: The first pre-orders for Nintendo's pastel pink Joy-Con are now open and available through the links below. The pair costs $79.99 and will be released on March 22, 2024, the same day as Princess Peach Showtime.
Even though it seems almost certain Nintendo is preparing to announce the successor to the Switch, there's still a lot to come on its current-gen console in 2024. Mario vs. Donkey Kong is a little more than two weeks away, and a Thousand Year Door remake and Luigi's Mansion 2 remaster will be getting release dates soon too. Nestled between those upcoming Switch games is Princess Peach Showtime, and the first game with Peach as the star for a very long time will also be getting its own limited edition Joy-Con.
Seizing the opportunity to remind Switch owners Showtime is now less than two months away, Nintendo released a new trailer for the game showing off more of Peach's in-game identities, including her ninja and cowgirl looks and abilities. On top of the new trailer, Nintendo also shared an image of a new pair of pastel pink Joy-Con, noting the new color will be released alongside the launch of Showtime.
No firm release date for the Joy-Con was given, although the inclusion of Showtime's March 22 release date suggests the new controllers won't be available until the game itself is released two months from now. Since Showtime is already available to pre-order, there's a strong chance you can secure the Joy-Con before the game's release. A must for anyone who wants them if so as Nintendo has described the pastel pink additions as being limited edition.
There have been a lot of official Joy-Con color options released for the Switch during its seven-year run, and it's somewhat surprising pink wasn't a part of the pastel collection from the start.
