Bungie has announced it's making two interesting changes to the Neomuna location's activities within Destiny 2's Lightfall expansion. Both of the changes, which deal with Terminal Overload matchmaking and the Vex Strike Force public event, will benefit Destiny 2 players in meaningful ways. Both changes are already complete and updated in Destiny 2, as well, without players needing to restart their game or download an update. SomeDestiny 2 players are likely taking advantage of the changes already without realizing it.
For those unfamiliar, Terminal Overload is a matchmaking node found on the Neomuna map location. It isn't a standalone mode, but rather a way to quickly join a public activity that shifts locations within Neomuna week to week. It features rewards tied to several different progression paths within Lightfall, granting players Neomuna reputation, Strand Meditations, and other area-specific rewards. It ties into the Season Journey, Weekly Challenges, and Triumphs, as well.

The problem with Terminal Overload, an issue since Lightfall first launched, is that many players felt like it didn't actually do anything. Queuing into it would simply drop a player into Neomuna, sometimes with no other players on the map, and sometimes with no activity progression available. The biggest change that Bungie has made today is improving the Terminal Overload launch node's matchmaking. Players will now be matchmade «more consistently» with other players rather than into empty zones.
