Bungie Closes Destiny 2 YouTube Comments Following Harassment

Destiny 2 developer Bungie is going through yet another round of targeted harassment, forcing the studio to close down comments on its recent YouTube showcase. Historically, Bungie has often provided post-launch summaries of the production of a given piece of content, and something similar was provided via the latest Developer Insights video featuring the artwork of the Lightfall DLC.

While it quickly became apparent that Destiny 2: Lightfall has many problems that need to be resolved, some community members have decided to forego constructive critique and instead target Bungie developers wherever it's possible to do so. This has come to a head in comments section of the Lightfall Developer Insights video discussing artwork, with the featured Bungie artists seemingly taking the brunt of it.

It's fairly well known by now that Destiny 2 has been the target of numerous harassment incidents, many of which took place last year specifically, with the situation culminating in serious threats and more. These issues haven't gone away, it would appear, as Bungie ended up having to turn off the comments for the recent Developer Insights video. While there's no remaining record as to what was said specifically, it seems to have been problematic, to say the least.

It wasn't long ago that Dylan Gafner, former Bungie community manager, said that harassment from Destiny 2 players is inevitable, no matter the type of interaction.
