Resident Evil 4's Mercenaries mode is scheduled to go live on 7th April, but depending on where you live in the world, you may be able to jump into the arcade action right now.
Players in select teritories in Asia can now access the game mode, with Korean gamers reporting they are able to access it. This scribe can confirm that Mercenaries is also currently live in Australia, too. If you really can't wait to jump in, creating a PSN account corresponding to either of those regions should do the trick.
Notably, it looks like the mode has launched with less content than first expected. Currently, you can only play as Leon, Luis, Krauser, and Hunk, and only on the Village, Castle, and Island maps.
Mercenaries offers a high-octane alternative to Resident Evil 4's traditional campaign, with players able to take on a variety of challenges and compete to be the very best survivor possible. Will you be diving in imminently, or will you be waiting for the update to roll out worldwide? Make sure everyone knows you were «first» in the comments section below.
Khayl Adam is the second best video game journalist Australia has ever produced, and his ambitions of world domination have (thus far) been curbed by the twin siren songs of strategy games and CRPGs. He has always felt an affinity with the noble Dachshund.
I never played the original, so I'm not sure what was on offer there. When you say it's launching with less content than expected, what exactly more did it normally have? Any word of patch/fix notes arriving with it?
Thanks.
