In this article, we're going to list all major PS4 game improvements with PS5 Game Boost. Please note that, when enabled, PS5 Game Boost should provide performance enhancements to the vast majority of backwards compatible games. For the purposes of conciseness, we're focusing on major improvements to PS4 titles, which may in some instances require the installation of a patch to take advantage of. PS5 Game Boost uses the additional horsepower available in Sony’s next-gen console to improve the way backwards compatible PS4 software performs. When enabled, some titles will see enhancements based on how they’re programmed. For example, if a game has an unlocked framerate with a theoretical 60 frames-per-second cap on the PS4 Pro, it may fluctuate between 40 frames-per-second and 60 frames-per-second. With the hardware available in the PS5, however, this same title would provide a locked 60 frames-per-second on the newest PlayStation system.
