Ok so it wasn't recent but back in december before my PS4 broke I ended up buying The Spyro Reignited Trilogy.
When I played the Crash N.Sane Trilogy it was pretty much exactly as I remembered when I played it as a young (relatively) little wide eyed Hallow. It was fun, challenging at points, had enjoyable characters and I just had a really good time with it.
I remember enjoying the purple dragon almost as much as the orange marsupial but upon finally replaying Spyro through the reignited trilogy?
Woof.
What an absolute SLOG these games were. Despite the fact each world is barely 3-5 minutes long they were so mind numbing and brain dead I couldn't really get over how much I'd 180'd on them.
Didn't like the artistic choices Toys For Bob took either with some of the re-designs (I still haven't touched Crash 4 cus of that) and didn't really like any of the characters either. Even Spyro felt very bland and uninteresting.
… Well aside from Moneybags voiced by J.B Blanc who was an utter delight!
In fact playing the spyro trilogy kinda reminded me of the Ratchet & Clank remake of the first game/movie Tie-in. It also felt very safe and sanitised with the characters having the personality of the colour beige

Just beat The Last of Us Part I (and got the plat as well). I used to think this game was alright, but replaying it has made me see this game is a masterpiece. Its way more than the interactive film some claim it to be. The gameplay is extremely solid and the survivors aspects work great. This was one of the game that popularized crafting, but I think that this game, more than those after it, did just enough to make crafting part of the gameplay loop, keeping that survival feel, without making
