We all knew after sitting in queue for an hour or more (multiple times!) that the Diablo IV Open Beta was successful — what we didn't know was just how wildly successful it was! The official Diablo Twitter account posted some stat roundups from the Open Beta, revealing that players played a staggering 61.5 million hours combined, making this the largest Beta in franchise history. Of particular note, the two most popular classes were Sorcerer and Necromancer — given the state of class tuning during the Beta, this doesn't come as a complete surprise, with both classes being extremely powerful.
The butcher also claimed quite a stock of Fresh Meat, with almost two million players butchered — and only about a quarter of that number proving successful in defeating the terrifying demon! Of course, you can't go without mentioning the Beta Wolf Pup — of which over two and a half million found their fur-ever homes. We can't wait to cuddle up with ours on launch!Shhh… do not wake until June 6th.
While the end of the Beta may leave many of us with a hole in our hearts, yearning for more Diablo, never fear — the Lord of Terror and the Mother of Sanctuary return officially on June 6th. We'll see you in Sanctuary!
