Diabo 4 is scheduled to launch on June 6, but the public betas for the game have been running since March. Meanwhile, fans have learned that Diablo 4 is to get new storylines every three months in what has been called "meaty" updates.
The game's associate director Joe Piepiora told Game Informer (via GameSpot) that post-launch quarterly updates will consist of new storylines that will be connected to new mechanics and game features. While it sounds tantalising, it does have some fans worried about the direction of this new Diablo.

These quarterly updates will arrive alongside a new seasonal battle pass that will have both free and premium varieties. Previously, Blizzard has said Diablo 4's first season will not go live when the game launches but will release at some point later. However, the news of these quarterly updates, which can be seen as seasons, has gotten Diablo fans talking.

However, as a commentor noted, Diablo 3 didn't get story updates with its seasons, but mostly focused on end-game content.
