These collectible trinkets, which can be equipped to Leon's attaché case, each provide unique perks that can make the government operative's search-and-rescue mission slightly less grueling. However, with a total of 30 charms to collect (or up to 32, for those who pre-ordered the game), it can become overwhelming trying to decipher which charms are the best.
In order to unlock charms in the remake, players must test their aim in the shooting gallery mini-game. These fast-paced rounds of target practice will reward Leon with tokens, which can be combined and inserted into nearby token machines to receive a random charm. While the player's score will determine the number of tokens earned, it's impossible to manipulate which charms are dropped from machines, even through reloading save files. This means that it might take a while to find a specific variant, but it's well worth the trouble to collect the remake's best charms.

One new change introduced with the reboot now makes it possible for Leon's trusty Combat Knife to break in battle, which in turn causes the Leon With Handgun charm to be all the more essential.
